Teaching Evaluation Support and Counseling

After student course evaluations are compiled by the Division of Curriculum under the Office of Academic Affairs, instructors whose single-course evaluation score falls below 65 (hereafter referred to as “faculty under counseling”; excluding Chair Professors and Distinguished Professors) are required to participate in workshops and counseling activities organized by the Teaching and Learning Development. The implementation procedures and process are established by the Center, and the results must be reviewed and signed by the Department Chair (or Program Director) and Dean before submission to the Vice President for Academic Affairs for approval.

For adjunct faculty, if a single-course evaluation score falls below 65, reappointment may not be offered. If a department (or program) decides to reappoint such faculty, the counseling process will follow the relevant provisions of this policy.
