Faculty Professional Practice Competency Assessment

To ensure teaching quality and enhance instructional effectiveness, the University established the Implementation Guidelines for Faculty Professional Practice and Teaching Competency Assessment in 2018 (Academic Year 107) and initiated a university-wide assessment of full-time faculty members’ professional practice competencies. From 2018 to 2022 (Academic Years 107–111), a total of 278 full-time faculty members completed the assessment, achieving 100% of the target goal.

Beginning in 2023 (Academic Year 112), the assessment applies to newly appointed faculty members who have completed one year of service at the University. The assessment form evaluates professional practice competencies demonstrated during the first year of teaching. The original Implementation Guidelines for Faculty Professional Practice and Teaching Competency Assessment was revised and renamed as the Implementation Guidelines for Faculty Professional Practice Competency Assessment, with the removal of the term “and Teaching” to reflect actual implementation practices.

This revision ensures that faculty members’ professional practice expertise aligns with instructional requirements and contributes to effective teaching outcomes.
